On September 23, protesters held a warning action in Yerevan and called on citizens to join them.
On September 22, protesters demanding the ouster of Pashinyan’s government started to block streets in downtown Yerevan. People started rallying in the Armenian capital following Azerbaijan’s launch of local anti-terrorist measures in its internationally recognised Garabagh region.
The protesters encircled the Government Building in Yerevan and then marched through the city’s downtown after learning Pashinyan wasn’t in the building.
Police detained several protesters, but the march continued. The political opposition has called for work and school strikes and has announced a regime-change rally this evening.
