Azerbaijan Airlines tops Heathrow’s punctuality rankings in January 2025

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has earned prestigious recognition as the most punctual airline at London’s Heathrow Airport for January 2025, surpassing 75 other global carriers. 

The achievement highlights AZAL’s commitment to operational excellence and timely service, Caliber.Az reports.

According to Rashad Bayramov, Adviser to the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, AZAL ranked first among 76 airlines operating flights to Heathrow for its on-time departures and second for on-time arrivals.

“This recognition underscores AZAL's dedication to delivering quality and punctuality in its operations. Among a competitive pool of 76 airlines, AZAL has ranked 1st in departures and 2nd in arrivals for flight punctuality in January 2025,” Bayramov said.

AZAL celebrated this achievement on its official social media platform, X, where the airline emphasized its ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction.

“We continuously enhance our operations with our professional team to ensure our passengers reach their destinations comfortably and on time!” the airline said.

Heathrow Airport, one of the busiest and most prestigious airports in the world, regularly evaluates the performance of airlines operating flights to and from its terminals. Punctuality is a key criterion in these assessments, as it reflects an airline's operational efficiency, reliability, and adherence to flight schedules.

AZAL has been expanding its international network and enhancing its service quality in recent years, focusing on improving its on-time performance, fleet modernisation, and passenger experience.
