Azerbaijan, Belarus sign wide-ranging cooperation deals in Minsk PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Belarus signed a package of agreements in Minsk during the 16th session of their Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, strengthening collaboration across economic, social and humanitarian sectors.
Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov and Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Petkevich signed the protocol of the meeting, confirming both sides’ commitment to deepen bilateral ties, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
In the statistical sector, Inna Medvedeva, Chair of Belarus’s National Statistical Committee, and Azer Mursagulov, Chair of Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee, signed a memorandum of understanding to expand data exchange and institutional cooperation.
Sergey Kovalchuk, Belarusian Minister of Sport and Tourism, and Farid Gayibov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, signed a cooperation programme for 2026–2030 that strengthens collaboration in sport, physical culture and youth development.
In healthcare, Aleksandr Starovoitov, Belarusian Deputy Health Minister, and Nadir Zeynalov, Azerbaijani Deputy Health Minister, signed a roadmap for 2026–2027 to expand cooperation in medical services and public health.
The Ganja Automobile Plant and Belarusian company POZHSNAB also signed a contract to assemble 21 firefighting vehicles. Sergey Zakharevich, acting director of POZHSNAB, and Khanlar Fatiev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Ganja Automobile Plant, concluded the deal.
Officials said the agreements will strengthen cooperation between the two countries and expand collaboration in industry, health, sport and statistics.
