Azerbaijan detains Armenian terrorists suspected of killing 6 Azerbaijanis in mine terror State Security Service's statement
The State Security Service of Azerbaijan has detained Armenians suspected of committing terrorist acts that killed two Azerbaijani civilians and four police officers.
The Service made the remarks in its address to the Armenian population of the Garabagh region, Caliber.Az reports.
On 19-20 September this year on the Azerbaijani territories, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily deployed, anti-terrorist activities of a local nature were carried out to suppress terrorist actions and disarm illegal Armenian formations, as a result of which the terrorist groups were forced to surrender, the state service said in the appeal.
According to the service, during anti-terrorist activities on September 20, persons suspected of committing terrorist acts, particularly the planting of mines, which killed two civilians and four policemen on 19 September 2023 at the 58th kilometre of the Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha road and in Khojavand district’s Tagaverd village.
After receiving consent for the complete disarmament and withdrawal of illegal Armenian armed formations from combat positions, consistent measures were taken in line with the presidential instructions to ensure peace, personal security and solve the Armenian population’s social problems.
The aforementioned measures also targeted handing over ammunition of illegal Armenian armed formations to the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
Moreover, the State Security Service called on the Armenian population of the Garabagh region to refrain from actions that threaten the overall development of the districts of Azerbaijan’s Garabagh economic region, as well as the well-being of the Armenian population, their reintegration into Azerbaijani society in peace, the resolution of social and humanitarian issues, the protection of the law, the preservation of stability and public safety.
The appeal also urged not to destroy property and documents, and hand over existing weapons and ammunition.
“The protection of their rights and freedoms shall be guaranteed to persons of Armenian nationality who have laid down their weapons and complied with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the Service added.
