Azerbaijan extradites Turkish citizen

Azerbaijan has extradited a Turkish citizen, who was on the international wanted list.

Turkish citizen Mehmet Yavuz Incesu, born in 1986, was convicted in Türkiye in 2020 for committing theft using a bank card, Report says, citing the Prosecutor-General's Office.

Incesu, who was on the international wanted list, was detained in Azerbaijan in August 2023, and a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen against him.

In accordance with the European Convention on Extradition and its additional protocols, a decision was made to extradite him. Accompanied by a special convoy from the penitentiary service of the Justice Ministry, he was handed over to Türkiye.
