Azerbaijan foils next drug-trafficking attempt from Iran PHOTO

Azerbaijani State Border Service officers have prevented another attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran.

Following operative actions taken by the border guards, Shamkir district resident Vugar Gurbanov was detained upon the attempt to smuggle narcotic substances from Iran to Azerbaijan on the Goytapa border detachment at 23:50 on April 13, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Border Service.

A detainee was found in possession of 20.4 kg of drugs destined for Azerbaijan. Border guards seized the illegal products and investigations are ongoing.
