Azerbaijan, Kenya set stage for stronger trade cooperation PHOTO

Azerbaijan and Kenya are exploring new avenues to develop their trade relations, with discussions recently held between Azerbaijani Ambassador to Nairobi, Sultan Hajiyev, and Ahmed Farah, the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya’s National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting focused on expanding trade cooperation between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

During the talks, Ambassador Hajiyev and Farah discussed Azerbaijan's participation in the upcoming WCF Africa Summit 2025, titled "Africa’s Global Future," and the potential for enhancing bilateral trade ties. Farah invited Azerbaijan to join the summit, highlighting the event as an opportunity to further develop commercial relations between the two countries.

To deepen the partnership, the Kenya’s National Chamber of Commerce and Industry proposed the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the future, aimed at solidifying trade agreements and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kenya.

Both sides expressed a strong commitment to strengthening their economic ties, with an emphasis on fostering collaboration across various sectors.

The WCF Africa Regional Summit, set to take place from April 9-11, 2025, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, promises to be a landmark event convening delegates from over 70 countries. Organized in collaboration with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), the summit is designed within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), with the aim of fostering economic growth, spurring innovation, and promoting regional collaboration across Africa.

Under the leadership of KNCCI, the summit will bring together a diverse range of key stakeholders, including business leaders, policymakers, and innovators, all focused on exploring strategies to drive sustainable economic development, encourage innovation, and enhance regional integration.

Throughout the event, delegates will participate in high-level business sessions, thought-provoking panel discussions, and specialized workshops addressing a wide array of topics. Key discussions will focus on public-private partnerships, gender inclusivity, industrialization, and the technological advancements shaping the future of Africa.
