Azerbaijan resettles families in Khojavand village under “Great Return”
Eleven families, comprising 36 people, have received keys to new apartments in Khojavand village as part of Azerbaijan’s ongoing resettlement efforts.
The families, previously displaced and temporarily housed in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings across the country, have now returned to their ancestral lands, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The relocation is part of the Great Return programme, launched following Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day 2020 conflict. The initiative aims to resettle more than one million formerly internally displaced persons (IDPs) by 2030. It focuses on rebuilding homes and infrastructure, restoring utilities, establishing schools and healthcare facilities, clearing mines, and promoting long-term sustainable development in liberated territories.
