Azerbaijan’s energy giant, Australian metal company discuss cooperation PHOTO
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) President Rovshan Najaf and Founder of Australian Fortescue Metals Group Chairman Andrew Forrest have met to discuss cooperation opportunities.
During the meeting, Forrest spoke about the activity and achievements of Fortescue Future Industries (FFI), a subsidiary of Fortescue Metals Group, in renewable energy, green hydrogen, ammonia and synthetic methane, Report informs referring to SOCAR.
Forrest noted that the company is interested in activity in Azerbaijan.
Najaf spoke about SOCAR's goals in decarbonisation, renewable energy and the ongoing steps.
During the conversation, the sides discussed the decarbonisation of current oil, gas and petrochemical operations, the use of SOCAR facilities and infrastructure by FFI to expand activity in green energy in Azerbaijan, as well as the possibility of cooperation in other spheres.
