Azerbaijan's non-oil export sees growth in 2024, with key sectors surging
The Azerbaijani Centre for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication has unveiled that from January to November 2024, non-oil and gas exports increased by 1.9 per cent year-on-year, reaching a total of $3.1 billion.
During the reporting period, food exports saw a notable growth of 12.3 per cent, amounting to $923 million, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
In the first 11 months of the current year, Azerbaijan's exports of various products have shown significant growth.
Sugar and sugar confectionery exports increased by 65.4 per cent, reaching $37.5 million, cotton fiber exports grew by 52.6 per cent, totaling $170 million, exports of vegetable oils and fats rose by 32 per cent, amounting to $25.5 million, precious metals exports rose by 29 per cent, reaching $189.8 million, chemical industry product exports grew by 19.6 per cent, totaling $265.6 million, exports of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 13.5 per cent, reaching $64.4 million, tea exports grew by 1.6 per cent, totaling $6 million, exports of ferrous metals rose by 1.9 per cent, reaching $48.2 million, exports of aluminum and aluminum products increased by 1.5 per cent, totaling $182.7 million.
From January to October 2024, Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas exports increased by 3.5 per cent compared to the same period of last year, reaching a total of $2.8 billion. Food exports from Azerbaijan saw a notable rise of 13.6 per cent, reaching $803.1 million.
Moreover, exports of agricultural products grew by 5.7 per cent, totaling $603.5 million, while exports of processed agricultural goods surged by 60.3 per cent, amounting to $260.9 million.
