Azerbaijan, South Korea discuss possibilities of cooperation in investments, trade, agriculture PHOTO
Azerbaijani Deputy Digital Development and Transport Minister Samir Mammadov and Korean Deputy Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Jong Dae-jin discussed possibilities of cooperation in the spheres of mutual investments, industry, trade, agriculture, energy, education, healthcare, culture and tourism.
The discussion took place during the third meeting of the joint Azerbaijan-South Korea intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation held in Seoul on June 7, Report informs.
During the meeting, the sides signed a protocol.
The Korean minister noted that Azerbaijan and South Korea are friendly countries. According to him, the last year was 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Furthermore, Mammadov stressed that Azerbaijan is South Korea's biggest trade partner in South Caucasus.
The deputy minister talked about measures to simplify cargo transportation via the Middle Corridor and noted that the implementation of the Zangazur Corridor project will promote stability and development in the region, and strengthen transit potential.
The commission was established on the basis of the "Agreement on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and South Korea" signed on August 28, 2012, in Baku.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and South Korea became more intensive after the establishment of the Embassy of South Korea in Azerbaijan in 2006 and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Korea in 2007.
