Azerbaijan strengthens trade ties with Belarus $1 million in annual goods supplied
Azerbaijan Trade House is making significant strides in the Belarus market, supplying approximately $1 million worth of goods each year.
Founded in 2017, the trade house has successfully established its presence, focusing primarily on contracts with Belarusian retail chains rather than direct retail sales, Caliber.Az reports citing Belarus media.
Vasif Ismayilov, founder of the Azerbaijan Trade House LLC, reported that Azerbaijani products are now available in nearly all stores across Belarus. Among the popular items, pomegranate wine stands out, although the range of products is continuously expanding.
The trade house's exhibition spans 540 square meters and showcases goods from over 20 Azerbaijani enterprises, including wines, cognacs, teas, canned foods, textiles, and cosmetics.
In a related development, Belarus is set to import products from Azerbaijan's Istisu mineral water plant. A protocol of intentions for this import was signed on October 4 in Minsk, during a meeting between the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov and his Belarus counterpart Roman Golovchenko.
Golovchenko highlighted the opportunity for Azerbaijani suppliers to fill the gap left by banned imports from EU countries, stating, “A big window is opening for our friends, suppliers, to substitute these European products. So welcome to the Belarusian market.”
The Istisu plant, inaugurated on September 2 by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva in Kalbajar district, boasts an impressive annual production capacity of over 100 million glass bottles. This partnership marks a promising step in deepening trade relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus.
