Azerbaijan, Tunisia set to deepen ties through new consultative mechanism
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad of Tunisia, to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), focused on enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tunisia, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Both ministers underscored the significance of strengthening ties between the two nations, which share deep religious and cultural connections, highlighting the considerable untapped potential for collaboration.
Discussions revolved around the establishment of a consultative mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, which would provide a framework for addressing key issues and fostering more robust diplomatic and economic relations.
Additionally, both sides reiterated the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the United Nations (UN), the OIC, and the Non-Aligned Movement. The ministers also touched upon various topics of shared interest and expressed their commitment to continued dialogue and cooperation on the global stage.
