Azerbaijan, Türkiye explore collaboration in wind energy sector

04 November 2025 19:14

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Energy Minister Samir Valiyev recently met with a delegation led by Mustafa Ataseven, Chairman of Türkiye's Ataseven Group, wind energy industry firm.

The meeting, which focused on advancing cooperation in the renewable energy sector, explored opportunities for collaboration in wind power generation, equipment manufacturing, and energy exports, Caliber.Az reports per Energy Ministry

Ataseven provided detailed insights into Türkiye's growing wind energy sector, including the construction of wind power plants, the production of turbine equipment, and the country’s initiatives to export generated energy. These discussions opened the door to potential partnerships between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, particularly in the area of green energy.

The talks also delved into Azerbaijan's ongoing and upcoming renewable energy projects, highlighting the country's ambition to become a regional leader in green energy production. The local manufacturing of renewable energy equipment and the export of green energy are expected to play a key role in Azerbaijan's energy strategy in the near future.

As part of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue discussions on areas of mutual interest, with plans to establish formal cooperation between the Ataseven Group and Azerbaijan’s Energy Agency (AREA).
