Azerbaijan unveils voter turnout in Khankendi, Nakhchivan as of 17:00 UPDATE
Voter turnout in Khankendi and Nakhchivan during the presidential elections as of 17:00 has been unveiled.
Head of the information centre of the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) Secretariat Farid Orujov said that as of 17:00 (GMT+4), 5,859 people voted, and the voter turnout was 75.7 per cent, Trend reports.
Meanwhile, voter turnout in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was 72.74 per cent. As of 17:00, 207,711 people voted, according to Caliber.Az.

Voter turnout in Khankendi during the presidential elections exceeded 50 per cent.
Head of the information centre of the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) Secretariat Farid Orujov said that as of 12:00 (GMT+4), 3,946 people voted, the voter turnout was 50.56 per cent, Trend reports.
Voter turnout in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as of 12:00 was 37.80 per cent. As of 12:00, 107,951 people voted there, according to Caliber.Az.

Electoral activity in liberated Khankendi has been announced.
Farid Orujev, head of the Information Centre of the Secretariat of the CEC of Azerbaijan, said that 2,361 people had voted by 10:00, with a turnout of 30.25 per cent.
It should be noted that voting in Azerbaijan’s snap presidential election is being held in the liberated city of Khankendi for the first time in the country’s history.
Election activities in the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan as of 10:00 have also been announced.
Caliber.Az reports that the turnout in the snap presidential election was 23.53 per cent. As of 10:00, 67,196 people had voted.
The Central Election Commission registered 7 presidential candidates - Ilham Aliyev of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, self-nominated candidates Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, Razi Nurullayev of the National Front Party, Fazil Mustafa of the Great Order Party, Elshad Musayev of the Greater Azerbaijan Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev of the Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party.
It is particularly noteworthy that for the first time in the history of independent Azerbaijan, the snap presidential elections are being held throughout the country. District election commissions have been formed in the liberated territories.
The voting process is being observed by delegations from the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS), CIS, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), CECs of Georgia, Montenegro, Ukraine, Maldives Election Commission, OSCE ODIHR Mission, etc. In total, more than 90,000 observers are registered to monitor the elections.
The independent media centre "Elections-2024" is working in connection with the elections. A total of 34 influential media outlets, including the world's leading media organisations such as the Associated Press, BBC, Al Jazeera, Kyodo, etc., are also covering the elections.
Three local pro-government organisations - Citizens' Labour Rights Protection League, the Opinion Monitoring Centre and the Social Research Centre LLC - are conducting exit polls. Citizens' Labour Rights Protection League is carrying out exit polls together with the US Oracle Advisory Group.
The elections are being held based on the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated December 7, 2023.
