Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan discuss enhancing cooperation in labor and social protection
Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection Sahil Babayev and Uzbek Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction Behzod Musayev held an online meeting to discuss strengthening cooperation in the social sector.
A central topic of their discussion was the draft intergovernmental agreement titled "On the protection of rights of citizens of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan temporarily staying in the territory of the two countries," Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
This agreement aims to safeguard the rights of citizens from both nations who are temporarily residing in each other's territories.
During the meeting, the ministers outlined key areas for practical collaboration and the exchange of expertise, focusing on labor inspection, the implementation of an electronic platform for labor contracts, and the use of electronic audits. They also explored the potential for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction's mono-centers and Azerbaijan’s Vocational Training Centres.
Additionally, the ministers discussed sharing experiences in identifying labor law violations through a risk analysis system. A significant portion of the conversation was dedicated to the possibility of introducing Azerbaijani electronic systems, such as DOST and AMAS Labour and Employment, in Uzbekistan, along with the implementation of labor arbitration practices.
