Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz Speakers mull historical ties, credit shared values

Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova met with the parliamentary delegation headed by Chairman of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiyev, who arrived in Azerbaijan on June 4 on an official visit.

APA reports, citing the press service of the Milli Majlis that the Chairman of Jogorku Kenesh familiarized himself with the plenary session hall of parliament.

The meeting underscored that the common history, culture, language, and religion of the two nations are the foundation of relations between the countries, and it was noted that after gaining independence, the relations between the two states were built on this solid foundation.

Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiyev wished peace and prosperity to the Azerbaijani people congratulating them on May 28 - Independence Day.

The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
