Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office sends team to Russia's Grozny to investigate plane crash
The representatives of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office are currently in Grozny, the capital city of Chechnya, Russia.
Following the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, urgent and necessary measures are being taken to establish the objective truth regarding the criminal case opened in connection with the passenger plane crash near Aktau, Kazakhstan, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Prosecutor General's Office.
As part of these efforts, a group of representatives from the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has been sent to Grozny. There, in cooperation with colleagues from the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, joint investigative and procedural actions are being carried out.
On December 25, another group of representatives of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office, led by Deputy Prosecutor General Elmar Jamalov, traveled to Aktau. They continue working on-site at the crash location, collaborating with Kazakh colleagues to carry out the necessary actions.
The crash occurred on December 25, when an Embraer aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, en route from Baku to Grozny, tragically crashed near Aktau. The plane was carrying 67 people, including 37 Azerbaijanis, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakhs, and 3 Kyrgyz nationals. Sadly, 38 people lost their lives in the crash, with 29 survivors.
