Baku set to host sixth Azerbaijan–Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission meeting
At a meeting in Baku between Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and his Kyrgyz counterpart Bakyt Sydykov, it was announced that the sixth meeting of the Azerbaijan–Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation is planned to be held in Baku this December.
Sydykov emphasised that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to developing cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan both in multilateral formats and through bilateral engagement, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan.
During the talks, the parties discussed the activities of the Azerbaijan–Kyrgyz Development Fund and the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation.
The ministers noted the positive dynamics and steady progress in trade and economic relations between the two countries.
They underlined the need for additional measures to increase bilateral trade, which, according to Kyrgyz statistics, currently amounts to $7.7 million.
Sydykov expressed interest in expanding transport and logistics cooperation and making effective use of the transit potential of both nations.
The meeting was held in an atmosphere of friendship, mutual understanding, and constructive dialogue.
