Vice President for the Caspian Region, Communications and Advocacy at BP Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, has said that the production of the first oil as part of another phase of the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli megastructure is scheduled for late 2023.

The construction of the Azeri Central East (ACE) platform is planned to be completed till late 2022 while it is planned to open wells and start oil production by late 2023, Aslanbayli told reporters, according to Report.

The support block of the ACE production platform is planned to be sent in the second half of this year, presumably in August or September.

The new platform will be able to extend the ACG production area and keep it relatively stable.

Investments in the project will amount to $6 billion. It includes the construction of a new offshore production platform and facilities designed to produce up to 100,000 barrels per day.

Up to 300 million barrels are expected to be produced from this platform for the entire period of operation over the entire period of operation. The new platform will be integrated with the existing infrastructure.
