Bulgaria to present project for increasing Azerbaijani gas supplies to EU in Baku
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has said that a project for the increase in the supply of Azerbaijani natural gas to Europe will be presented in Baku on February 3.
According to Report, Radev made this remark while receiving the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez, who is visiting Bulgaria to sign an agreement on access to the Turkish gas transmission network between Bulgargaz and the Turkish BOTAS.
Caliber.Az recalls, that Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Austria have joined the project at the initiative of Bulgaria and signed the memorandum together with Azerbaijan in presence of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on December 17.
President Radev proposed to deepen energy cooperation between Bulgaria and Türkiye.
For his part, Donmez noted on the available opportunities for increased cooperation between Sofia and Istanbul, saying, that "Türkiye, given its geographical position and the infrastructure at its disposal, is ready to help supply sources, be it from the Caspian Sea region, the Middle East or the Eastern Mediterranean".
