Deputy minister: Azerbaijan to receive bodies of four plane crash victims from Kazakhstan
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations, Maj. Gen. Adil Abdullayev has said that the bodies of four Azerbaijani citizens who died in the plane crash in Aktau, Kazakhstan will be transported to Baku.
He noted that the bodies of the four victims will be transported to Baku on an AZAL aircraft, Caliber.Az reports.
Abdullayev also stated that seven injured individuals were transferred to Baku aboard a special plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, accompanied by doctors and professional psychologists, and their treatment will continue at hospitals in Baku.
The crash occurred on December 25, when an Embraer aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, en route from Baku to Grozny, tragically crashed near Aktau. The plane was carrying 67 people, including 37 Azerbaijanis, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakhs, and 3 Kyrgyz nationals. Sadly, 38 people lost their lives in the crash, with 29 survivors. In response, President Ilham Aliyev declared a day of mourning in Azerbaijan on December 26 to honour those lost in the tragedy.
