Envoy: EU continues to assist Azerbaijan in demining

EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko has said that the EU continues to assist Azerbaijan in demining and is the largest donor in this area.

He made the remarks at an event dedicated to Europe Day in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, the EU and Azerbaijan are actively cooperating in the field of environmental protection and continue to work on the conclusion of a new Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

"Azerbaijan has great potential in the field of renewable energy and the EU provides ongoing support to the development of the country's energy sector," Michalko said.

He also noted the support of the EU in ensuring stability, security and lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
