Foreign diplomats view construction of educational complex in Kalbajar And visit Khudavang monastery
Diplomats, military attachés, and heads of international organizations accredited in Azerbaijan visited Kalbajar to observe the ongoing construction of a new settlement and urban educational complex.
The delegation received comprehensive information about the development project, Caliber.Az informs, citing local media.
The educational complex, spanning over 2.2 hectares, will feature a variety of modern facilities, including an 80-seat kindergarten, professional workshops, a STEAM zone, and areas for preschool training. Additionally, the project includes the construction of a school capable of accommodating 528 students.
During the visit, the diplomats were briefed on the broader infrastructure plans for the settlement, particularly efforts to facilitate the return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs). The project aims to create a fully functional living environment with the necessary services and amenities for returning residents.
Moreover, as part of the visit to the region, ambassadors, international organisations and military attaches accredited in Azerbaijan visited Khudavang Monastery Complex.
The guests inspected the complex and its surroundings. The diplomats were extensively informed about the history of the complex, an ancient Albanian temple.
They were told that during the Armenian occupation, the monastery was vandalised, bells, frescoes, carpets, etc. were stolen. The guests were informed about other acts of vandalism committed by Armenians during the occupation.
To recall, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva inspected the progress of the Kalbajar City Educational Complex during their visit on September 2. The initiative is part of Azerbaijan's broader efforts to rebuild and develop the liberated territories.
