Georgia suspends imports of gasoline, diesel fuel from Azerbaijan

Georgia has stopped importing gasoline and diesel fuel from Azerbaijan since January 2023.

APA's Georgia office reports that this is evidenced by the report of the Union of Georgian Oil Products Importers.

Over January-February of 2023, Georgia's annual imports of gasoline and diesel fuel dropped by 8,400 tons or 4.6 per cent to 174,100 tons, of which 81,800 tons was gasoline and 92,300 tons - diesel fuel.

In January-February, Russia was the main fuel supplier to Georgia.

During the reporting period Russia exported 148,500 tons of fuel to Georgia, which amounted to 85.3 per cent of total imports of Georgia.

In January-February of 2023, Georgia did not import fuel from Azerbaijan, which in previous periods was the main supplier of diesel fuel to Georgia.
