Georgian ruling party questions presence of foreigners at Tbilisi protests
Executive secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party Mamuka Mdinaradze has said that thirty per cent of the identified individuals at the protests in Tbilisi are representatives of foreign countries.
Mdinaradze, upon revealing this information, questioned the situation, asking, "Someone should explain this oddity, shouldn't they?"
Earlier, Secretary General of the Georgian Dream party Kaha Kaladze stated that the authorities will not allow Georgia to turn into Ukraine and will not permit the country to be used for the interests of foreign countries. He added that Tbilisi would also prevent any attempt at a revolution within the country.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze remarked that the opposition had failed in its attempts to implement a Ukrainian-style Maidan scenario during the protests in Tbilisi. He noted that despite coordinated efforts, the national Maidan in the republic had collapsed.
