Kazakhstan ready to mobilise large funds for Gaza recovery
Kazakhstan is prepared to allocate substantial financial resources to support the rebuilding of the Gaza Strip, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced during the first meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington, US.
Tokayev said Kazakhstan aims to take part in reconstruction efforts by partnering with experienced international companies, Caliber.Az reports via White House.
"As our first step, we are ready to contribute a significant amount of cash finance directly to the Board of Peace without any delay. We are also keen to be part of the restoration and construction process through international companies with strong credentials," the Kazakh leader noted.
He added that the program, primarily funded by the Kazakh government, could involve building infrastructure, housing, schools, hospitals, other vital civilian facilities, and clearing debris.
Expanding on this, Tokayev emphasised that he shares and supports the position of Donald Trump that lasting peace in the Gaza Strip must be built on concrete actions.
"I also would like to propose to establish a special President Trump's award of the board of peace to recognize his outstanding peace building efforts and achievements," he stressed, adding that under Trump's strong leadership, the Board of Peace would successfully deliver its great and noble mission.
