Kazakhstan, Russia to strengthen cooperation with 20 new agreements President Tokayev says
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has announced that during Russian President Vladimir Putin's upcoming state visit to Astana, 20 agreements are set to be signed.
"Before the visit, government members were working together, discussing all the issues on the agenda," Tokayev noted.
He noted that the two heads of state will sign "very important documents."
"These 20 agreements will undoubtedly provide a powerful boost to the further development of our good-neighbourly relations and cooperation," the Kazakh president said.
President Tokayev also told President Putin that Kazakhstan has been and remains a reliable strategic partner and ally of Russia "during these challenging periods."
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kazakhstan for a two-day state visit.
During the talks, Putin and Tokayev would discuss the further development of the Russia-Kazakhstan relations and alliance, particularly in light of Astana's chairmanship in the CSTO and Moscow's leadership in the CIS and BRICS.
