Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Community of Western Azerbaijan, MP Ramil Hasan has brought attention to the pressing issue of resettlement and the return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia.
Speaking at the UN Economic Commission for Europe's Sustainable Development Forum, Hasan underscored the significance of addressing this challenge in achieving sustainable development goals, Caliber.Az reports.
He criticized Armenia's failure to establish a peaceful and inclusive society and called upon the international community to support efforts for the return of displaced Azerbaijanis.
Ramil Hasan noted that Armenia, which subjected more than 300 thousand Azerbaijanis on its territory to ethnic cleansing, and in total more than one million people suffered from it, is far from building a peaceful and inclusive society, which is the main objective of the 16th Sustainable Development Goal.
Ramil Hasan emphasized that it is necessary to create conditions for the return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia, and this is not only a requirement of international human rights, but also an important step towards sustainable development and peace in the region. He called on the international community to support this issue.
