President: Türkiye aims for regional stability, not intervention
Türkiye has no intention of interfering in the internal affairs of countries in the region or seeking to “reshape” them, and instead aims to contribute to peace and good neighbourly relations, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to Azerbaijani media, he made these remarks while speaking at a meeting of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Ankara.
According to Erdoğan, the Turkish leadership advocates “for joint efforts for the sake of the region’s common future.” He stressed, “We wish for friendly countries what we wish for Türkiye.”
The president also addressed developments in neighbouring Syria, underscoring that Türkiye would not leave its Syrian brothers to face the country’s challenges alone.
“Certain forces today are trying to exploit the crisis situation in Syria, ignoring the risk of interethnic clashes. We will not allow this,” Erdogan stated. He added that Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan share Türkiye’s stance on the Syrian issue.
“We will take steps to strengthen stability in Syria together with these three countries,” the Turkish president said.
