Romania plans to join the project for creating the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Türkiye-Bulgaria green energy corridor, according to the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan.
A memorandum of understanding on the transmission and trade of “green electricity” was signed on April 4 in Baku between the energy ministries of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Türkiye, and Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development during a ministerial meeting, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
A schedule for the upcoming project work was also approved.
“The Romanian side has expressed its desire to join this project. In this regard, the Turkish side has prepared a draft Protocol to amend the Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 4, 2025. The draft Protocol is under consideration by the parties,” the ministry said.
Negotiations also continue among project participants on a technical assignment document prepared by Türkiye.
