Russia boosts oil supplies to Türkiye to record levels
Oil supplies from Russia to Türkiye by sea have increased to 444,000 barrels per day.
Compared to November in December 2023, the volume of Russian oil supplies to Türkiye increased by 12 thousand barrels per day and reached 444,000 barrels. About 70 per cent of this volume was shipped in the Turkish port of Aliaga, Kommersant reports, citing the data of analysts of the company Kpler.
"About 85 per cent of all Urals deliveries to Türkiye in December fell not on geographically close Novorossiysk, but on tankers from Russia's Baltic ports of Primorsk and Ust-Luga," the publication says.
According to preliminary data, Russian oil exports to Türkiye in January will also exceed 400,000 barrels per day. In addition, Türkiye is becoming a more attractive country for oil exports against the background of problems in the Red Sea related to the Houthis.
