Russia detains man over alleged plan to target passenger train, FSB says PHOTO
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) says it has prevented a planned terrorist attack on railway infrastructure in the port city of Novorossiysk and detained a Russian citizen allegedly acting on instructions from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), according to TASS.
The FSB Public Relations Centre said the suspect, born in 1993, had established contact with an SBU representative via Telegram and was instructed to carry out an explosion on a railway track while a passenger train was passing.

According to the agency, the man acquired components, assembled an improvised explosive device, and stored it at his residence. He was detained while allegedly conducting reconnaissance of a railway section.
Authorities said the operation prevented the attack from being carried out, and no injuries or damage occurred.
A criminal case has been opened on charges related to the preparation of a terrorist attack.
