The Russian Interior Ministry's spokeswoman Irina Volk has announced that detentions were made at unsanctioned protests across Russia on September 21.
"In a number of regions, attempts were made to hold unauthorised actions, which attracted an extremely small number of participants," Interfax quoted Volk as saying.
"All of them were stopped, and the people who committed the offences were detained and taken to the territorial police units for investigation and prosecution," she added.
The protests were against President Vladimir Putin's order for a partial mobilisation to reinforce Russian troops in Ukraine.
More than 1,169 people had been taken into police custody in 38 Russian cities, according to the human rights website OVD-Info.
