Russia's "Duma TV" channel committs provocation against Azerbaijan

"Duma TV" channel covering the work of the Russian parliament has committed a provocation against Azerbaijan.

APA reports that today, after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the return of Lachin city, Sus and Zabukh villages, temporarily controlled by the Russian peacekeeping forces, to Azerbaijani control, and the deployment of the Azerbaijani Army in Lachin, a commentary by military historian, political analyst Nikita Buranov was disseminated on "Duma TV" titled "Azerbaijani army deployed in Nagorno Karabakh".

The author of the commentary adheres to the anti-Azerbaijani stance in the format of a voice message. Thus, the "military historian" and "political scientist" N. Buranov noted that the original Azerbaijani land of Karabakh is occupied by military force, and regrets this: "Azerbaijan has always openly declared about its goal and has never concealed the aim to occupy Karabakh. Unfortunately, the latest events show and prove that Azerbaijan will achieve this solely through military means. They hope to solve this issue exclusively through military means. And even the Russian peacekeepers deployed there are not strong enough. The reason is their lack of heavy weaponry. Obviously, the Azerbaijani side is not going to make concessions and is trying to take full control of 'NKR'."

Further, the "political scientist", comparing the situation in Karabakh with the situation in which Armenians found themselves during World War I, says that "Azerbaijan does not want to put up with the existence of Armenia, wants a corridor to Nakhchivan, has agreed with Kazakhstan."

The Russian "historian" claims that "all this is an integral part of the idea of the "Great Turan". Buranov said that "what is happening in the first place is a very serious challenge to Russia's security."

The "political scientist" urged his country's security services to pay special attention to the Turkic regions of Russia, despite the existence of the Ukrainian problem.

The broadcasting of anti-Azerbaijani material on a Russian parliamentary channel runs counter to the strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries. The desire of Armenian diaspora-funded "military historians" and "political scientists" to strike a blow against good neighbourly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia is also not surprising. It is surprising and regrettable that information contradicting the state position of the Russian Federation is being disseminated on the TV channel of the State Duma, one of the branches of power of Russia.

Therefore we would like to remind the editorial office of "Duma TV" of a quote from an interview given by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Channel 1 after the Second Karabakh War: "Karabakh has always been an inseparable part of the territory of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan was returning territories which it and the whole world community considered as Azerbaijani territory".
