Russian MoD orders to launch partial mobilisation

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has said that all the necessary base for mobilisation was already ready and instructed to start implementing the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He also ordered strengthening the security of warning areas, points of reception and collection of mobilised citizens, Kommersant reports.

“The time has come to put into practice the experience gained during the annual strategic exercises,” the Russian defence minister said.

Shoigu explained that the mobilised citizens will have the status of contract soldiers and the corresponding level of allowance.

He also instructed the commanders of the military districts "to organise close cooperation with the executive authorities of the constituent entities of Russia to ensure the call of citizens for mobilisation."
