Russian oil exports hit highest levels since may 2023

Russian oil exports have reached their highest levels since May 2023, according to Bloomberg.

The report highlighted that delays in tanker unloading have led to a sharp increase in the amount of oil held at sea.

The volume of crude on board vessels has risen by 48% since the end of summer, reaching 185 million barrels.

Bloomberg noted that at least 20 tankers are currently waiting for clearance to enter ports in China and India, while other vessels have taken months to deliver their cargoes.

Between December 15 and 21, 38 tankers shipped a total of 28.31 million barrels, exceeding the 22.73 million barrels recorded during the previous week.
