Tragic plane crash in Russia's Altai claims pilot's life
A light-engine airplane has crashed in Russia's Altai region.
According to a report from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the pilot did not survive the incident, per Caliber.Az.
On September 14, 2024, the Ministry received notification of the crash, which occurred near the village of Priozerny in the Rubtsovsky district. A fire and rescue team has been dispatched to the crash site, and further details are being investigated, the agency stated.
In a separate incident earlier, a unique aircraft, the “Alex-251,” crashed shortly after takeoff in the Moscow region. The experienced 1st class test pilot was at the controls when the accident occurred. The pilot had been dismissed following a stunt performed with the airliner.
On September 9, an An-2 light aircraft also crashed in the Moscow region during a test flight near the village of Vatulino in the Ruza urban district. The first images from the crash site were later published by the Telegram channel 112.
In late August, another An-2 aircraft, carrying 15 passengers including two children, made a hard landing in Vladikavkaz. Six people sustained injuries in the incident.
Additionally, a light-engine airplane in the Murmansk region was mistakenly shot at, as it was believed to be a drone.
