Turkish armed forces to receive domestic EIRS radar PHOTO
Turkish leading defence manufacturer ASELSAN has signed a new contract for the Early Warning Radar System (EIRS). The total value of the EIRS Fixed Contract is approximately 1 billion TRY ($50,488,820).
A contract worth $27,029,473 was signed between ASELSAN and the Defence Industry Department for the supply of a fixed early warning radar. Deliveries under the contract will be carried out in the period from 2026 to 2027, Caliber.Az quotes SavunmaSanayiST.com’s report on its Twitter page.

Stationary EIRS radars will be supplied to the Turkish Air Force. These radars will replace the existing French-made ones. Additionally, a portable early warning radar system (TEIRS) was also developed for air defence systems and mobile units.
EIRS is a next-generation S-band radar designed for long-range early warning purposes, with an antenna architecture in the active electronically scanned array (AESA) and a digital beamforming infrastructure. Architecture with AESA and digital beamforming, providing long-range detection and tracking of EIRS jet air targets, as well as ballistic missiles and stealth targets (Invisible) (F-35, Su-57, F-22, B2) is a radar system capable of generating more than one beam at the same time due to its multi-channel receiver structure.
The system has the functions of merging data with other EIRS and transmitting trace information for target transmission, which is especially critical for missile defence. To support radar modes of operation, the Mode 5 long-range IFF interrogator is integrated with a high-gain IFF antenna. The AESA architecture and EIRS modular design approach support the concept of low maintenance cost and high availability.
The EIRS project has 2 configurations: portable EIRS (TEIRS) and fixed EIRS (SEIRS). In the first phase, four man-portable early warning radar systems (TEIRS) will be procured, and orders for 18 fixed early warning radars (SEIRS) will be placed in the following phases.
