Türkiye is in talks with UN, West on resuming grain deal
Türkiye is negotiating with representatives of the UN and the West on the issue of resuming the Black Sea Grain Initiative in its previous format.
“Negotiations are underway with the UN and Western countries, taking into account the recent meetings of UN representatives in Moscow and Istanbul,” a diplomatic source in Türkiye told TASS, adding that there is no progress on the issue of resuming the grain deal.
The source recalled that last week, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burak Akçapar held consultations with the Secretary General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development, Rebecca Greenspan, and the UN Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths.
Prior to this, UN representatives visited Moscow, where they discussed with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Vershinin the situation around the grain deal, as well as establishing access for Russian fertilizers and grains to world markets.
