UNDP ceases its activity in Azerbaijan
02 May 2025 13:17
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has officially ended its operations in Azerbaijan.
According to a statement from the UNDP office in the country, today marks the last working day of the organisation's office in Azerbaijan. Starting tomorrow, the UNDP will no longer operate within the country, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The UNDP has been active in Azerbaijan for nearly three decades, establishing its office in the country in the fall of 1992, shortly after Azerbaijan gained independence and became a member of the United Nations.
Initially, the UNDP's efforts were focused on early recovery programs, particularly for those affected by the Karabakh conflict.
