Uzbek president to attend EAEU summit in Kazakhstan
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will join a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which is scheduled to take place on May 29 in Kazakhstan.
Uzbekistan will participate in the expanded format of the summit as one of the key observer states, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
The upcoming meeting will focus on the further development of trade and economic ties, the expansion of cooperation, and the removal of barriers in mutual trade.
Leaders are expected to discuss practical steps toward market integration and the simplification of customs procedures.
The summit will begin with a closed-door session in a narrow format, attended by leaders of EAEU member states: Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, as well as Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
Later, representatives of observer and partner countries will join the expanded session, including Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa and Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Atabak.
