Western Azerbaijan Community: Yerevan is not interested in peace
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statements, voiced during his speech on the occasion of Army Day, once again demonstrate that Yerevan is not interested in signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, the Western Azerbaijan Community said in a statement.
“A country that supposedly wants peace, at the same time brags about contracts for the purchase of weapons worth billions of dollars. Pashinyan's repetition of claims about ‘mirror troop withdrawal’, voicing outdated, utopian proposals such as ‘non-aggression pact’, ‘mutual arms control mechanism’ prove that Armenia is trying to avoid a peace treaty under unfounded pretexts” Caliber.Az reports, citing the statement.
“The statements of the President and the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament on the occasion of the Army Day show attempts to justify the occupation and disappointment with the results of the Second Karabakh War. These contradictory statements are completely incompatible with Yerevan's stated policy of peace.
In addition, the statements of a number of Western countries on the occasion of Army Day serve to encourage revanchism in Armenia and call into question the interest of these countries in the peace process," the community emphasized.
