ANAMA employee injured by anti-personnel mine in Shusha
Tragedy struck in the liberated territory of Gaybali village in Shusha district today as an employee of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) fell victim to a mine explosion while performing his duties.
The incident, which occurred in the recently liberated area, highlights the ongoing dangers posed by landmines left behind by occupying forces, Caliber.Az reports.
The injured ANAMA employee, identified as Guliyev Elchin Aydin oghlu (born in 1981), sustained severe injuries, including the amputation of his right leg, as a result of the anti-personnel mine blast. He was swiftly evacuated to a district hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. Fortunately, his condition is reported to be stable at present.
The Mine Action Agency has confirmed the incident and is actively cooperating with the Shusha district prosecutor's office, which has launched an investigation into the case.
