Armenian defence chief hosts French envoy to mull bilateral cooperation

23 August 2024 13:10

On August 23, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan welcomed Olivier Decottignies, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia.

The discussion centred on several key issues related to Armenia-France defence cooperation, including the ongoing reforms within the Armenian Armed Forces and the various cooperation programs between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

Olivier Decottignies, who began his tenure as French Ambassador in July 2023, succeeded Anne Louyot.

Louyot, who had served as France's ambassador to Armenia since August 2021, left her post due to personal reasons. Prior to his appointment as ambassador, Decottignies was the French Consul General in Erbil.
