Azerbaijan holds meeting of Commission on Use of Renewable Energy Sources PHOTO

The first meeting of the Azerbaijani Commission on Use of Renewable Energy Sources has been held in a renewed composition, established upon the president’s order dated December 5, 2019 "On additional measures for the implementation of projects on the use of renewable energy sources".

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, in his speech, spoke about the important tasks facing the commission in connection with the execution of the order, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy.

He noted that the implementation of some projects to expand the use of renewable energy sources has already begun in accordance with the goals set by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the energy sector.

“The preparatory work on others is underway and it is important for the corresponding organisations to coordinate actions,” he added.

The information on wind and solar energy projects being implemented in Azerbaijan has been given at the meeting. The technical, economic and financial issues for the preparation of these projects were discussed.

The prepared draft decision on measures to be taken before the next meeting of the commission was considered and it was adopted taking into account the comments and proposals.
