Azerbaijan hosts training for journalists on combating hybrid threats
Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency and ADA University organised a two-day seminar for journalists entitled “Media and hybrid attacks”.
Finnish Ambassador to the South Caucasus Kirsti Narinen and Finnish experts participated in the training session, which started on June 19 with the aim to help media professionals be prepared for such threats and be able to prevent them, Report informs.
During the seminar, it was emphasised that these training seminars, conducted by foreign experts, were not organised for the first time.
Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Narinen noted that nowadays, the boundary between information based on reality and fiction has blurred.
“This makes this kind of training for journalists even more important so that they can better navigate the hybrid threat environment,” she said.
According to her, a hybrid threat is a concept that describes a challenge for the entire 21st century, adding that the main purpose of such attacks is to influence the social and economic processes in the country and destabilise the situation.
The ambassador stressed that the two-day workshop will raise important questions on dealing with hybrid threats.
