Azerbaijan, Italy discuss cooperation in restoration of liberated lands
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has met with the Undersecretary of State of Italy's Ministry of Ecological Transition Vannia Gava.
During the meeting on June 2, the parties discussed the successful development of the economic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy, particularly in the energy sector, Trend reports, citing the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry.
Jabbarov and Gava shared views on alternative energy, and cooperation in the restoration and reconstruction of the liberated Azerbaijani territories.
Jabbarov noted the successful development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy, the importance of mutual visits of the heads of state and ongoing negotiations in expanding ties.
For her part, Gava emphasized the importance of fruitful discussions on expanding economic cooperation and shared her opinion on the ways of developing partnerships.
She informed about the emerging demand for natural gas in Europe, as well as the interest in importing raw materials, and highlighted the importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan in this regard.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, from January to April 2022, trade turnover with Italy exceeded $5.93 billion, while in the same period last year it was slightly over $2.5 billion.
