Azerbaijan lays foundation for automobile plant

In the industrial quarter in Hajigabul, which is managed by the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones, within the framework of the project "Production of passenger cars", the foundation of the factory was laid for the localization of the painting, welding and assembly stage of automobile production.

According to Report, the Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov, the head of the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones Elshad Nuriyev, the chairman of the "Association of Machine and Equipment Manufacturers of Azerbaijan" Emin Akhundov, the head of JSC "Uzavtosanoat" Ulugbek Rozukulov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov spoke at the ceremony.

They noted that the plant is another successful example of Azerbaijani-Uzbek cooperation and will contribute to the development of the automobile industry in our country.

"The first stage of the automobile industry, which began a few years ago, was intended only for assembly. Today, the foundation of the plant for the localization of the painting, welding and assembly stage of the automobile industry has been laid at the second stage.

After this stage, the development of the secondary industry will continue at an even faster pace. At the next stage of the production of the car, the production of other spare parts is foreseen", - noted E. Akhundov.
