Azerbaijan plans to increase the quota for foreign workers involved in Karabakh's reconstruction
"The number of applications related to labour migration has increased in connection with the restoration and construction work on the Azerbaijani territories liberated from Armenian occupation," Report informs with reference to the head of the State Migration Service's main department for the regulation of migration processes, Ismayil Abdullayev.
He made the remarks at the meeting held between employees of the Azerbaijani State Migration Service and local employers.
At the meeting attended by heads of institutions, local and foreign entrepreneurs and their representatives, Abdullayev detailed the rights and obligations of employers when obtaining a work permit.
The official underlined the importance of concluding an employment contract with foreigners.
Senior Adviser of the State Migration Service Aygun Naghiyeva spoke about measures taken by the Service to improve the business environment in Azerbaijan.
Naghiyeva stated that the approved quota increased by 1,000 this year compared to last year, reaching 8,740 people as a result of construction work being carried out in lands liberated from occupation.
The senior adviser stated that companies operating in the Karabakh region provide 25 per cent of the forecast for the quota for foreign workers for 2023.
Officials from the State Migration Service answered the participants' questions at the end of the meeting.
